Double concert – Trio Sixty-One Strings & Carlo Marchione
Trio Sixty-one Strings
In 2013 Negin Habibi (guitar), Konstanze Kuß (harp) and Katya Solovey (mandolin) founded this rare trio.
From there on the three ladies dedicated themselves to the study of pieces originally written for this lineup, to transcribing orchestral works and to collaborating with contemporary composers, in order to initiate new and precious repertory.
Their project is led by the sheer fascination of plucked instruments and their diverse possibilities and timbres.
Sixty-one strings play with both modern and historical instruments, which are arpa doppia, baroque mandoline and baroque guitar. A program with electric instruments is about to come.
The trio had its debut concert in summer of 2013 and has since then been impressing their audience with this unique alternation between ancient and modern epochs on authentic instruments. With irresistible joy these three ladies arouse a new and unheard musical world.
Carlo Marchione
Carlo Marchione is a true master of the guitar. A renowned artist and gifted teacher, he has an impressive track record: he played concerts at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, the Berliner Philharmonie and the big hall of the P.I.Tchaikowsky conservatory in Moscow.
Many of his former students are now famous guitarists, a.o. Marcin Dylla, Alexis Muzurakis and Susana Prieto (Duo Melis), Irina Kulikova.
We are very happy that he’ll be teaching and performing at our festival this year.
