Walter Broes is no stranger to roots music lovers in the low countries (or even Europe).
He was seventeen years and an impressive number of concerts for a long time as the front man, singer, guitarist and songwriter for Belgian roots rock band “The Seatsniffers”.
“Movin’ Up “will be released at the end of 2016, his first record in six years, and the debut of” Walter Broes & The Mercenaries “. Also on this album you can hear his unique take on Americana, Rhythmand Blues, Rockabilly, Country and Rootsrock.
“Movin’ Up “got good press, and the band played quite a few concerts all over Europe for enthusiastic audiences and reviews.
Walter Broes is also frontman, singer, guitarist and songwriter in his current band, and his voice and guitar playing have only gained in depth over the years. Clark Kenis (from Belgian Band “Moonshine Reunion”) plays double bass and Fender bass, sings solid backup and occasional lead vocals, and Roots music veteran Lieven Declercq (“The Internationals”) serves as drummer.
The band is currently recording new album, of which a vinyl single will be released in summer 19.
Expect an energetic show with virtuoso guitar and double vocals ranging from stuttering Rockabilly to steaming Rhythmand Blues, with the occasional trip to a MoodyMambo or a wild Bo Diddley Rave-up.
